No in MO they thought it was "Weed" growing. Really confused a lot of folks. One guy was afraid it would spread to his farm fields like cockle burr. It was oh so good but I think I ate one or two pods to many. Or maybe it was the pint of ketchup I use up...

Amazing and no one that I know has even eaten okra before.

Catsup??? OMG, that's a very important condiment. I put it on nearly everything, too.

UMMM, we'll be having leftover cottage cheese buttons today. DH made a few too many.

I'd never heard of okra til` I got to Ca...in fact, that goes for alot things, but I was young and stupid then too.

One thing I haven't seen much of since I left Mi. is asparagus. I know it's around, it just doesn't out seem to be as popular out west as it is/was in the northern states/snow country.

I grew asparagus in MO. One more thing that gets imported from the mid west down to FL. To hot here for it.

Catsup, Jammie? Isn't it ketchup? I'm kidding.

I love asparagus. Has anyone tried the canned asparagus? I'm sure it wouldn't be as good.

I can eat canned OK. I do like a cheese sauce on it. Frozen is available too. I looked at fresh from Peru and passed on it last trip to the store. Skinny as a tooth pic. When we lived in MO I grew our on. We froze all we wanted for the year.

right now I'm eating a blueberry bagel for a pillow for the nightly meds.

When Art BBQ was in Rapid City, they had the best okra. Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce is FANTASTIC!!! It's rarely on sale though. I refuse to eat it canned.

Most of the BBQ joints here serve fried okra as an appetizer. They just can't cook it like my wife does.
