Green fried tomatoes. That's a genuine "country dish" Love em'
What I miss is fried Moral mushrooms. In Mi, we used to go out in the woods and pick them every spring. Everyone did it, it was like a season holiday.
Roll em' in flour and fry em' in butter.
You never had fried Okra? You don't know what yer missin"
What do mean, you don't fry anything up there? Do you eat yer eggs and meat raw?
I'm a vegetarian so I don't know how others eat meat up here. Well, I try anyway.
Never had fried okra, but I plan to. There was something else we were discussing on the OK forum that is fried and supposed to be so delicious. It was grits that I wasn't going to be eating. I just know there were several comments about everything being fried there. We eat more high calorie baked foods here so I'm not sure it's much healthier. Well, anyway I eat a lot of baked goodies.

That's right, you mentioned before that you were a vegearian.
To be honest, I never heard of okra until I moved to Califorrnia.
If the feeling of snot in your mouth won't bother you, you'll love it.
Okra is slimey and stickey.
