Default Absaroka

Did you know back in 1939 that parts of Wyoming, Montana, & South Dakota wanted to make a separate state? Here are two interesting links...

That is fascinating! I had never heard that before and wonder why it was never in history books or discussed anywhere. Maybe because it was a very short-lived thing?

Wow! That's very interesting! I never learned that in local history. I can imagine that it was short-lived because the area of Absaroka was pretty desolate and unpopulated. It probably would not gain much in revenue.

Still fascinating nonetheless.

I was surprised myself. I love any SD history, but this is something I've never heard of before.

It was very short lived, but it really surprised me that people during that time, really thought that it was possibility. They made license plates and had a baseball team in Rapid City!
I actually found a "supposed" photo of Miss Absaroka 1939... I'll try to find the link.
I spent the whole day researching stuff... I looked up articles about Roswell, NM, and Area 51... It just captivated me.

And somehow I stumbled upon Absaroka. I woke up watching Unsolved Mysteries!

AWWW, you've gotta love an old pic with their hairstyles and clothing.

Alright!!!! Someone else who is interested in the paranormal. There's a long thread that I've been trying to read in my spare time, but I'll never get to read it all. You might find it interesting.

Cool Jammie , Thanks for that link! I've always been interested in it... UFOs, ghosts, etc... I'm not saying I'm a firm believer in anything, but I just find it fascinating.

I spent a good hour or two reading through the various incidents...

I've always been interested in the unexplained, too. You just KNOW there's got to be something going on because there are just too many people who've seen those things to totally dismiss it. Now as far as what a UFO actually is (I know, it's an unidentified flying object ), there are a few options and some day we'll learn the truth. Just fascinating though.

What great links! I am glad to now know how to pronounce Absaroka. As far a extraterrestrial activity is concerned, E.T. and Alf are real, aren't they?

I know... I feel a little silly for spending hours upon hours sitting in from of my computer that one day researching it...but it's interesting!
But it's good to know that I'm not crazy!
