Default Another Natural Gas Leak

Downtown Mitchell is closed tonight because of another gas leak. The crews are out there working to find it. It doesn't look like it'll be a good year for that company. It's only been a week since the house exploded and damaged other houses in the area.

sounds like they need to invest in the infrastructure before they kill someone.

oh my goodness! How frightening! I'm glad they found it and are working on it so no one else has to get hurt. They had a leak in WV last month that blew up a gas station/convenience store, it was a propane leak I believe and it was devastating.

My thoughts are with you and the others in Mitchell.........

Pam

Pammy, thank you and Faulkton, I think you're right. The explosion they had a week ago on the east side of town made them discover they had something old in the pipes. I don't know what, but they're now made of a better material to stop things like this from happening. But it appears that a lot of the city has the old stuff in it. They were STILL working up on main street this morning when my DH was trying to go uptown so it's a bit scary. Then there were two city workers down on my corner and I was a bit tense to say the least. I watched and it turned out they were only repairing a bit of the road. It's the natural gas lines because that's what most of us use for heating. Hopefully they'll get all of it changed before someone really does get killed.

I'm glad faulkton doesn't have NG, although i guess bottle gas isn't really any safer.

I still like being able to fill my tank when its cheaper and not have to pay a monthly bill!
