Thanks RJ I'll look into it.
Debey when we had the nephews up here for the summer they wanted to hit the Midway Carnival thingy too. Just no way in hell we could afford it for 3 boys let alone just ours. Even with the arm bands I think they were running 18 bucks each. A good bargain if your gonna be there for 8 friggin hours but it would have been almost 60 bucks just for the wrist bands and then your right, 5 bucks for a friggin 15 cent hot dog on a stick. Crazy. I can understand making a profit but outright robbery is ridiculous.

Hey Debey, we were there last night, too. I always enjoy the CP Festival. We ate a lot of "fair food" cause I was starving. I'd eaten very little all day just so I could load up on junk food. The prices were kinda high though, just like you said. BUT did you notice over by the American Legion/VFW~hot dogs and taverns were 1.50? That's a very good price. Of course, I enjoyed my fried veggies and funnel cake, etc.
We found some good bargains on t-shirts. We have an out of state family who just loves Sturgis t-shirts or tank tops and the one tent always has such good prices. And the "peace necklace"~I'm gonna have one before tonight is over. LOL
We were also amazed at the cost of tickets. It doesn't sound too bad that 20 tickets is $20, BUT you need 3 or 4 or 5 tickets just for ONE ride. Maybe I'm lucky to have motion sickness and be a "non-rider".

Does the Rapid City Journal Sunday Edition have the grocery coupons in them?????
Was thinking of getting a subscription if they do. Coupons are nice.

I've never thought about freezing milk... I live alone and I'm not a milk drinker at all... I only use it for cooking... I'll have to remember that.

Just couldn't see paying $5, for a "hot dog on a stick".........
The kiddie rides were $3.00/3 tickets, each. Most of the rides were not "full", and there wasn't much "waiting in line".

Debey, I saw the pics you posted on facebook. It looks like your grandson had a fun time!

Just remember when it thaws out you will need to shake it once in a while as the milk and milkfat will separate after freezings. Nothing terribly bad though lol.

Freezing milk works pretty well, but I don't have the freezer space (yet!). The Journal does do coupons on Sunday - there were three inserts yesterday. PM me if you are interested in other sources for coupons!

Not a coupon clipper... I do however buy house brand if possible. Saves a bit. Pondered a Sams Club Membership... But haven't taken the leap yet.

Hmm thats interesting about the milk freezing. I'd never thought/heard of that. What state in the US, do you think is doing the best in the recession?

Upper midwest. ND, SD, and Wyoming seem to have fared well. They have taken a hit but not as extensive as the rest of the country.

I agree. Also, Neb. is holding their own. W. Virginia had been doing quite well, but they're had a downturn, too. Tx. was hanging in there, but they've started to slide a bit, too. Utah is doing relatively well. But yup~we've been very fortunate cause our area hasn't tanked yet and hopefully won't either. I realize this map is nearly a half year old, but it's still somewhat accurate today~
