In comparison with hurricanes, sure, snow is much more manageable. Easier to prepare for, better idea of what it's going to do.
Still, my back is groaning at the sight of that. Looks wet and heavy. Makes me remember to add fixing my defroster in the car to the list of things I need to take care.....window scraper...*sigh*.
And I thought I was never going to have to think the words Window Scraper again.

That's another thing that depends on which side of the state you live on. The eastern half gets heavy wet snow that really soaks into the ground, yet it stays around all winter. The western half gets "powder" that makes for great skiing and melts in the matter of a couple days.

Either way - still snow!!
This last one, Sioux Falls just got a dusting, and it's running right around 40 degrees today. Aberdeen got about a foot, looks like Debey about got buried. Rapid - how much snow did you guys still have on the ground from the last one when this one hit?? Any?
I have found that Sioux Falls seems to get missed more often than not, or we just get a little. Wind doesn't stop though....

There were a few small snowbanks here and there that got a big addition. Most of it had melted away when this 2nd wave hit. This storm packed way more punch than the last one. Some Sturgis streets have lanes closed because of all the snowbanks and Deadwood got over 2 feet.
It's great out today, but apparently another one is brewing.

And the snow keeps falling.
Somewhere, I still have a childrens book, with that title. My kids were only allowed to read it in July & August...............

It has not stopped snowing in Rapid since I got up this morning. There was a brief moment where I thought it might be winding down, about 4:30, but then the wind picked back up. 3 weeks, 3 blizzards - what a wonderful start to the spring!

They extended the Winter Storm Warning to 10pm tonight. It was supposed to be over at 6pm. I have huge drifts in my driveway. Grr!
