Default Crazy Weather Thread

Thought we could use a fun thread to explain the current weather in our location!

A record-breaking warm day for Rapid City will give way to a powerful blizzard tomorrow. Today it was 78 degrees and sunny and tonight I hear thunder and see lightning. Only in South Dakota!!!

Danny, check out the weather channel. Jorma Duran is stationed in Rapid City today.

Wow, you did break your old record of 72 that was set in 1945. And now.......

The eastern part of the state is under a severe thunderstorm warning through tonight. It started yesterday and we did have quite a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon. We only hit 60 so we were far short of our record of 87. BUT our night didn't cool down much. It was 58 degrees just a couple hours ago and has now dropped down to 55. It's been a bit humid out so you never know what may happen today.

I got up this morning, saw school was on in RC. Took a shower and checked the tv when I got out, and school is closed. Ugh! I could have stayed in bed!

I saw that! I've also never seen a more chaotic looking map of the midwest. They've used every color in the crayon box to convey the warnings!

Duh-oh!!! Besides RC schools being closed, there are several other cancellations. Pine Ridge is sending out there buses in just a bit.

Kinda breezy over here, but nice and warm and humid.

I'm disappointed so far. I wanted huge snowflakes, and ice crystals on my windows like last May!! I've had mornings where I had to drag my kids to school in waay more snow than this - and today there was no school. I'm glad they called it, because I got to stay home from work . . . but, we've still got 24 hours in the blizzard warning, so maybe it'll get better!!

Yeah besides the wind, thunder, lightning, and tornado watch this storm isn't that impressive yet.
