Cell Phone Reception
How's the reception in Sioux Falls, Rapid City and Mitchell? And along the 90?
Does Verizon get good reception up there? Any absolute horror stories on service with any of the major providers?
I'd like to think that most good sized cities have decent reception, I remember seeing a coverage map six or seven years ago and a lot of the upper midwest seemed outside any service area's.
Any info would be great.

I have verizon and drive I90 a lot, don't know that there are any dead zones along it. Rapid City has OK service, they just updated last year I heard to a faster system. As far as Mitchel and SF I use my phone in both and don't recall any problems.

I-90 usually gets good recepetion the whole way. I have Alltel and the only dead zones I get into are up in parts of the Black Hills or in Wyoming.

I have Verizon and the greater Sioux Falls area has top-notch Verizon service. Verizon is very spotty in northeastern South Dakota, from my experiences.
Alltel seems to provide the best service in the rural areas.
The larger population areas will have excellent coverage.
You have to remember that 6 or 7 years ago was very different time in terms of cell phone coverage!

This gives a general idea of where coverage is good and bad. Most of South Dakota is covered by Verizon andf Alltel. Less popular carriers have roaming charges or are only available in the more populated areas.

Thanks guys for the responses.
I figured most places would be covered by now, but it's good to get first hand accounts.
