Hi! This is Gabby again. I finally made the move from OR to SD., currently in Spearfish right now as I found a temporay cheap place to land until tourist season June 1st. Then have to be out of the place at that time.

Decisions-Decisions. Can't figure out if I should stay here or go on down the hill to Rapid City. Looking for something in the $550 rent range and not in a high crime or gang area. I know Spearfish doesn't have any that I know of. Course difference is in big cities versus small. Eventually would like to find a part time job.

Any tips would be welcome on how I should adapt myself to life in South Dakota. Other than that, I like it here, as I visited quite some time ago. I really like the friendly people here too.

Hey Gabby, glad to hear you made it. Personally, I love Spearfish, but it may be easier to find employment in Rapid City. Also, RC is generally warmer in the wintertime then Spearfish. The cost of living used to be much lower in RC then in Spearfish, too. Wish I could help you with apts., but I know someone will.

For a job, go to Rapid. For a low cost of living during the tourist season, head north up to Belle Fouche.

uh

Try to find a place in Rapid City because it is easier to land a job here than in Spearfish. You really won't have to worry about much crime either as long as you stay out of the Northside. $550 is a common price for a one bedroom in Rapid City too. If you're lucky, maybe even a two bedroom.
