RJ the best lunch item at The Alpine Inn has got to be the Monte Cristo!!
OMG IT'S SOOOO GOOD!!!
If you go to Spearfish try The Bay Leaf or Roma's Italian Restaurant. They're fantastic too!

I'll make a suggestion for lodging in Custer. Last time we were there we stayed at the Dakota Cowboy Inn (Google it) and it was very nice and reasonable prices. There was also a restaurant next to it with the same name and the food was excellent.

That's the place, right below Crazy Horse. You can go out the east side of the restaurant and look at their buffalo.

Yup. Been there a couple of times years and years ago. Now for the life of me I can't remember the name of the place.

Speaking of the Black Hills, has anyone seen or heard from BlackHillsDreams lately? I haven't seen a post from him for a few months now?

We just returned from a great time in the Black Hills. We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites in Rapid City. I highly recommend this hotel! We booked through Priceline for under $50 per night. They offer microwave and fridge in every room, have indoor pool with water slide, full hot breakfast and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. With easy access to the highways, this location worked just fine for us. We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of SD and look forward to returning some day.

Hi PA, thank you for a nice trip review. We're glad to have you and come back whenever you get the chance.
That is very reasonable for a motel room, isn't it?

Very nice vacation review! I would say that is a bargain for a Rapid/Black Hills hotel. The key is to book your vacation outside the "prime time" (May-August).

The AmericInn on LaCrosse has a sign that states the price of a room. A few weeks ago it was $39.99 and now it's at $59.99. Tourist season is fast approaching.
