Danny, that sounds like fun! I was just in the Cities a few weeks ago for a concert. I had a blast!

Jammie, I was lucky enough to see the firework at Mt. Rushmore. It was AWESOME! I definitely recommend it. It's crazy how many people show up though.

Grandma time is important! Sounds like you'll be busy, Debey.

Relay for Life... Again what I get for being on a committee.
Then spending a weekend on the ranch.
Any trips... I would love to do a trip to the Big Horns or Yellowstone.

I would love to see Yellowstone... Someday...

I will be taking my time off later this week and the last two weeks of May, have to take two weeks off consecutively. I will be doing some travelling and put some miles on the car, which already has enough miles on it. I plan to head to Mississippi to visit a college buddy and his wife and head to Oklahoma to visit relatives and swing through Colorado to visit relatives and a couple college buddies. Other that that, I will be busy doing rennovation work with my parents on my future home. It will definitely be a busy summer, but well worth it.

Chris that sounds like fun!

We (myself, my dh and our four kids) cannot wait -- in fact, we talk about our trip at least several times a week since February.

That sounds like fun... I love camping... I'm also hoping to fit that in with friends sometime this summer. Have a great time in the Hills!

ashnat if you take I-29 south into Iowa, watch out for road construction big time in Iowa. I went to Omaha last week, and it seemed like every few miles I was slowing down to 55 for lane closures... The trip seemed to take forever!

MJ1986, I have also noticed the road construction going though Iowa when going to and from Kansas City. It is just as bad, if not worse south of Omaha until 10 or so miles north of the Missouri border on I-29. Missouri was much better. Coming back, I sat in traffic in Sioux City going northbound between Hamilton Blvd. area and the last exit right before the SD-IA border. To top it off, it was raining heavy and traffic had to go on the rumble strips on the left side of the northbound lanes. What should have been a five hour trip from KC to the Sioux Falls area turned into a six plus hour trip.

I forget there is a september wedding. At this rate I doubt I will get to do any vacations or road tripping to some place fun like Yellowstone or Glacier. So while my summer is going to be booked up and busy I am going to enjoy the ride.

Jammie just remember that you don't have to go to Mount Rushmore to see the Mount Rushmore fireworks. There are PLENTY of great viewing points that tourists don't know about and you can beat the crowds. Do let me know if you go!

Moving...from Indiana to South Dakota...nuff said!
Actually, we are making a mini-vacation out of the move to make it more fun for DD...we will spend a day at Lake Michigan (Probably the only place in IN I will miss!), stop at the Wisconsin Dells, and a few other little places along the way. A real vacation will have to wait until next year, but we will do lots of little weekend trips this summer to get (re)acquainted with our new home!

Taking the 20 hour drive from SoCal to Rapid late june. Gonna do some fishing, biking, and hang out on the lakes with the boat. Driving to Pierre for a week and then it's back to Rapid. Going to fireworks at Rushmore, Heritage festival, ride the go-karts and then probly head back home after the Sturgis rally. Which should be around mid August.
