Default Summer Plans

What are your plans for the summer? Any big vacations, or small road trips, like Mt. Rushmore ?

I plan on taking it easy... No big vacation plans.

Maybe a couple trips to Denver for a concert or two. Then I'm moving up to Minneapolis this August with a couple friends! I'm pretty amped!

Probably small roadtrips. We really haven't planned anything yet. We generally take a big vacation after Sept. 15th. The summer rates usually drop then. Flights/hotels, etc are usually quite a bit less.

But I just know we'll end up down at the beach at Yankton and make a few trips to Falls Park, etc. MAYBE we'll go and see the fireworks at Mt. Rushmore this year. We've never done that. Can you imagine living this close and never seeing that?

Looks like 3 weekends, in Pierre, this summer, a wedding, a birthday, and a Memorial....a fishing trip, for hubby, to Gettysburg/Akaska area, and a weekend of rummage sales, with my Mom.
After that, as much Grandma time as I can beg, borrow & steal.

A fund raiser poker run in Tuner, Minnehaha, and Lake Counties.
Temporary assignment in Rapid City.
4th of July family gathering in Hill City, and a parade in Fort Pierre. I might be able to get out of the parade bit.
Relay for Life... Again what I get for being on a committee.
Then spending a weekend on the ranch.

Any trips... I would love to do a trip to the Big Horns or Yellowstone.

Was in KC for two weeks for work-related training and back for a week and back on the road again.

I will be taking my time off later this week and the last two weeks of May, have to take two weeks off consecutively. I will be doing some travelling and put some miles on the car, which already has enough miles on it. I plan to head to Mississippi to visit a college buddy and his wife and head to Oklahoma to visit relatives and swing through Colorado to visit relatives and a couple college buddies. Other that that, I will be busy doing rennovation work with my parents on my future home. It will definitely be a busy summer, but well worth it.

A lot of camping around eastern Nebraska.

But then in mid july a ten day camping trip to the black hills -- our tenth (or is the eleventh?) year in a row.
We will be camping at Sylvan Lake and then down at Stockade North campgrounds.
We (myself, my dh and our four kids) cannot wait -- in fact, we talk about our trip at least several times a week since February.
