Yes, it was my first batch. I bought the setup from a guy in Nebraska that was going through AA, so I got it very cheap!
I made a kit called American Lite Ale from Ironmaster. This was my first time, so I fully expected something to go wrong, but it turned out great! I made 5 gallons and bottled all of it, so I'm good to go for the summer. It's actually pretty good and I'll definitely be brewing another batch this summer.
I would kinda nervous about the milk can. The solder might have a few heavy metals that are not the best for human consumption. If I could find a decent vessel to cook that I would love to do that. Sounds almost as good as a crawfish boil.

Not sure why a person couldn't just use the pot for the turkey fryer and do the same thing? Of course, you'd have to modify the recipe, but maybe you could just run 2 turkey fryer pots to accomplish the same thing.
now we just need to find the milk can.ps are you really headed up to sd this year?
I'd like to....and we've discussed it. If we go, it will be a last minute decision, but I'm always ready to go to the Hills. There's nowhere better IMO.
