Talking We made it to RC !!

Hi! I finally have internet up and running again. We made it to Rapid City Thursday night. We are loving the weather and our new apartment so far. Unfortunately (LOL) I'm stuck with my kids at home .. they told me to register them in the fall since there is only 7 days left. They are bored cause we have pretty much none of our stuff. Our furniture and everything should be here Sunday or Monday. The floors suck to sleep on LOL. We bought two bar stools for our kitchen so at least we can sit at the counter and get on here We have some very pretty (but annoying) pigeons that seem to want to make our deck home.. and has left us lots of presents we need to clean up. Ive managed to get lost in the downtown area (I think) I hate how the roads dont seem to go north-south and east-west.. I think some go in a circle.. Im going to have to check a map lol... but thankfully navigator on our cell phone helped out. I'm too tired and sore to go out and do a whole lot. Once the furniture gets here and I get a good night sleep I think I will have much more exploring to do.

Anyways.. we've been here a short time but loving it so far!

Geography plays a major part in street layouts. Big ol' hills and a creek that runs through town.

G33, how wonderful that you finally made it to your new home! You'll love it there. We've often thought that it'd be great to live out in the Hills. Just never had enough energy to move, I guess.

Keep us posted on your likes and dislikes of your new area.

I'll admit....I got lost when I first got here too. To this day I still have no idea where I was and how I got there.

Not to mention, streets change names frequently. Oh well, the great scenery makes up for it! Glad you made it!

Congrats on your successful move... It sounds like everything went smoothly. Navigating Rapid City will take some time. Maps are always a useful tool.
Hopefully the pigeons will go away! I know they are difficult to get rid of.
Keep us up to date on how the rest of the transition goes!

Gald you made it - I had the same issues - nothing like odd streets - nothing is in real "block" form and everything is curvy and changes names You are not alone!!!

I also remember waiting for our furniture to arrive - oh that floor was a killer!!! We finally gave up and got an air mattress until our bed arrived!! Have fun exploring!
