Debey, you always think of the best topics for threads.

June 17 @ 5 PM - Automania (Classic/Muscle Hot Rod display) on Phillips Avenue Downtown (Free)

June 19-June 24 - US Youth Midwest Region (13 states) Soccer Tournament @ Yankton Trail Park (Free)

June 20 - MDA Poker Run - 11 AM @ J&L Harley Davidson on 60th Street North ($20-$25)

June 20 - Sioux Falls Festival of Cultures - 11 AM @ Falls Park (Free)

July 4 - 4th of July Parade & Picnic - Parade @ 10:30 AM, Picnic @ 11 AM, as well as games and entertainment (First 5,000 no charge for picnic) - Picnic @ Falls Park

July 10-July 12 - Hot Harley Nights (live music, silent & live auction, raffle, casino run, motorcycle show and parade) - All proceeds go to Make A Wish of SD (Advice to SF residents: Try to avoid the motorcycle parade route, or you'll be cussing like me in the past years of it... I've ended up in the parade before )

July 17-July 18 - Downtown Crazy Days - 10 AM

July 17 (5 PM)-July 18 (11 AM) - JazzFest - Yankton Trail Park (Free)

July 25 - Dakota Irish Fair - 2 PM @ 5th & Phillips near Falls Park

August 11-August 16 - 70th Annual Sioux Empire Fair - W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds ($5 admission)

There are many more events/celebrations/classes, etc during the summer. Welcome to Sioux FallsEvents.com is a great resource!

Ok... I'm sick of typing now!

We don't do much since I have to work every other weekend, but 4th of July is always in Aberdeen with family. Hubby spends way too much money on fireworks, we eat too much and enjoy being with the family. Thinking of buying the hubby a new tent for father's day and maybe we can go camping somewhere close and not have the long drive home on Sunday. Fishing at every opportunity, in fact, I'm at work and my guys are out fishing right now.

I'm sure that would be crazy. During my younger years, I played in a band. One of the wildest wedding dances I ever played for was in Tabor at the hall on main street. I knew we were in for quite a night when I was doing our microphone checks. I was saying "check one, check two" etc. and the people in the crowd were yelling back "I'm Czech", "yea me too, count me".

This was one of those nights where we played well past the originally posted quitting time.

Debey, my family went up to the Brookings Arts Festival last year and were really impressed. Tons of food and crafts that my wife love and it was a really nice day on top of that. We are looking forward to heading back up there again this year as there were also a bunch of neat things for the kids.

I didn't see it anywhere here, but for those of you are are fans of the 80's hairbands, there is also the dakotarockfest at the SF Fairgrounds 24-25 July. They have a website with the lineup for each day. We went out last year to have some fun and it was a pretty fun crowd and just a good time in general. A real relaxed crowd overall.

Journey is WAAAY overpriced for the Steve Perry wanna be from the Phillipenes or whatever, but he sure does sing the songs well. I just can't bring myself to spend that much for them. There was a journey cover band at Rockfest last year that was pretty fun (maybe not the best) but fun...

Anyway, enjoy the summer...
