Hey Mark, it's always good to hear from you and I just read your other post, too. It's great that you are enjoying life here and I'm sorry that you'll be moving on in the future.
I'm definitely going to have to check out the lineup for the rockfest even though I'm more into the 60s and 70s music. And I know what you mean about the cost of the "Journey" tickets. We definitely debated about it before we ordered them. All we can do is hope that they'll be much better then Dr. Hook was the other night at Flandreau. We've seen him a few times in the past and thought he and his band were good. Unfortunately, the concert the other night was horrible.

The one thing about the guy singing for Journey these days is, he's a spot on impersonation of Steve Perry, so that's one thing. Those prices though... Good God. I love all sorts of music from all timeframes, so I can go most shows and have a really good time.
As much as we have enjoyed it here, we are looking forward to the move next year and starting a new part of our lives. After 21 years in the Army, it will be time !!!

Wow 21 years???? That is a long time.
Well, Journey is WAY too expensive, but when Elton John was here, the people who bought through Ticketmaster had to pay something like 107 per ticket. We thought about it, but WOW!!!

So did anyone go see Journey ?? Just curious if people thought the lead singer was as spot on a Steve Perry as what I've heard he was.
Rockfest this weekend for the lovers of Hair Bands and people watching...
Fun stuff right there !!!

A friend of mine posted this on a baseball forum:

Saw Journey last night at our city's outdated arena. Completely perfect representation of all awesomeness that was 80's Arena Rock!!! Their new lead singer is unbelievable - great stage presence and perfect vocals on all songs. Their newest release (about a year old - Revelations) is pretty decent, reminiscent of classic Journey. My wife got us 5th row tix - great seats! I'm tired, have a sore throat & ringing ears -- all that is great about arena concerts!!! Don't Stop Believin' was more than perfect!!
Night Ranger opened & started the ringing ears early - they were surprisingly good as well (& even played Coming of Age from the Damn Yankees - forgot Jack Blades was with them).
Rock on!!!!!

Yes, we saw Journey Sun. night. They were fabulous and the new guy is just great! He also sounded exactly like Steve Perry and OMG did that boy have energy.
Night Ranger wasn't our favorite. They got a lot of applause so some people must've liked them. Excellent musicians~just not our kinda music.
About Steve Perry~I heard that he was sick, BUT at the concert someone said he was releasing a new album by the end of the year. SO, take your pick as to which it is. LOL

Steve Perry might be sick for releasing an album.
