On the other side of the coin, it is always nice to see the back roads/towns of South Dakota!

If I have the time I will take other roads to get where I want to go. When I head out to Rapid I take 14. If I am heading to the northern hills I get on 34 and cruise out.
Sioux Falls I usually take 34 to 45 and come out at Kimball. Or 34 to Madison.
Friday afternoon I was heading out and ran into construction and a delay on 14 west of Pierre. There was no cute flagger girl to look at either.

Good to know! Glad my dad will be with us, and he remembers all the back ways in!

lol! Have you been on State Highway 1806 south of Fort Pierre? I've driven it once, and it's pretty scenic.

Yes I have. yes its a pretty drive. If fact I might have posted a picture of 1806 where it looks like it drops off into the river.
Couple years ago 1806 was under construction every time it rained 1806 would be closed until its dried up.
