Mattress shopping in Sioux Falls
Just wondering if anyone has any experiences mattress shopping here in Sioux Falls. I've heard so many horror stories about mattress buying from other people. I've narrowed my choices down to Comfort King ( just outside of Empire Mall), Select Comfort ( in the mall ) and Slumberland Furniture ( Simmons Beautyrest in particular at this store ). I usually do alot of research before I purchase anything, but I can't find much about these stores here in Sioux Falls. I'm basically trying to find good/bad experiences that anyone's had with these stores in particular, as well as your mattress experiences. My wife and I are moving in a month and are buying a whole new bedroom set. Thanks for any help!

My wife and I bought a king Comfort King mattress and box set from Comfort King, best bed I've ever slept on, the one we got was $1000 and its the softest one they had it was great, even softer than my parents Vera Wang Pillowtop....Select Comfort was way too pricey when we looked, it was around $2500 for their cheapest, I think they dropped them quite a bit but too late....

I don't have any experience with buying mattresses in Sioux Falls.
My opinion, is probably avoid the mall store... Comfort King is more local with only 2 locations... 1 in Sioux Falls and 1 in Fargo.
I've bought a mattress at the Slumberland in Aberdeen, and had no complaints.

Thanks for your replies so far! As a matter of fact, my wife and I went to Comfort King tonight and looked at their beds and was definitely impressed. I'm happy to hear Deadwood that you're enjoying your mattress. Have you had to change layers or add anything to the bed since you bought it? Thanks MJ for your input. I still have to check the others, but so far, I liked Comfort King, since they seemed really honest and no sales pressure.

I would also recommend Comfort King. They are local but have enough choices and have a good product. My parents bought matresses there and had good luck with them. I have a bed from there and about four years old that is still decent. I plan on getting a new matress in the next few years and would like to get a firm matress and use the current mattress as a spare one for visitors.
If I went somewhere else, I would go to Unclaimed Freight Furniture. When looking around for furniture, I usually have the best luck there. I like their clearance center, but I am a bargain shopper who can be fussy at times. I would definitely try out Unclaimed Freight Furniture (the main part) and their clearance center. South Dakota Furniture Mart and Furniture Outlets USA are owned by Furniture Outlets USA, which also owns Unclaimed Freight Furniture. I would check either one or all three out. SD Furniture Mart is more top of the line, Unclaimed Freight is more middle of the road, and the Furniture Outlets USA along with Unclaimed Freight's clearance center have items on clearance. Depends on what you are looking for.

No, I haven't had to change it at all, its a perfect mattress.... I think sometimes they run deals where you buy a certain bed you can get like sheets or pillows for free with it as well.

When we (my parents actually bought it since I was in high school at the time) bought the mattress, I think they talked my parents into some sort of spray for the mattress to prevent stains. I could be wrong, but I think thats what it was for.
If what I'm thinking is right, why would one have this? Your mattress is covered with a sheet anyway... Who cares if it gets stained!
Advice: Don't get suckered into the unneeded extras!

Oftentimes, there is a white-colored mattress cover that is put on before one puts one the bed sheets. This protects the matress and prevents a good chunk of the potential for staining of the mattress. A spray to prevent stains seems a little too excessive, but that is marketing.

I can't really comment on the stores in Sioux Falls but if any offer memory foam mattress options I highly recommend that you check them out. We bought a Sealy memory foam mattress two and a half years ago and it was hands down the best money I've ever spent. I hurt my back badly shortly before that and it help a lot and even now that my back is better my arms and hands don't fall asleep and I don't have pain in my hips and shoulders from pressure points. They cost more than the inner spring mattresses but well worth the money IMHO.
