Midco is overpriced for what you get anymore...i recently switched to directv and its pretty nice, i got the nfl sunday ticket promotion that they had...It's awesome I only have Midco for internet and when I get my new cell phone I may not even have that....
FYI, I have Midco upstairs and Knology down in the rec room. I'll give em both credit for one thing, they are trying to outdo the other on the new detective shows and those fight for your life out in the jungles eating possum, snakes and whatever some of that marine life is. I think both are out daily looking for fat people to put on TV in weight loss contests. Give me the history channels and Nat Geo and I am happy.
Midco and Knology are both excellent choices to have compared to other areas that have to deal with nightmare companies like Charter, Time Warner, Comcast, etc. I used to have Midco in Aberdeen several years ago but dumped them because they kept raising their prices every year and because the cable internet was unreliable at that time. It's too bad Northern Valley Communications aka James Valley Telco doesn't expand to areas other than Northeast SD. Their service is reliable and fast and they offer cell service so you can bundle that with cable/dsl/landline options if you want. And the one time I had to have them come out to service something, it was a Saturday and they came 15 minutes after I called to report the problem.
Here in Omaha it is COX Communications. When we lived in Rapid last summer we had Midco (I contracted for them, so it makes sense) and I gotta tell ya....MIDCO rocks compared to COX. The clarity is incredible compared to what we have. The internet was was faster too. In Omaha it was 10meg and in Rapid it was 50!! :-) I think COX is way overpriced for what you get here. When I was installing for Midco last summer I was switching people from Knology to Midco because of the STEAL OF A DEAL they had.....$89.99 a month for 12 months for all three services. And that included the middle grade internet, DVR with one premium to pick from (HBO, Starz, Cinnamax) and to ice the cake unlimited long distance. People we switching like crazy!!! Now if only the cable companies would looks their greed and just keep the price there. After a year it will be back to full price and I'm sure it will be closer to $180 a month!!! GREEDY is what it is...
I would love to have a decent connection. I don't have a land line anymore. I could stream my tv hows and save a load of money. I do like satellite.
