Drive from Sioux Falls to Omaha
Hi,
moving to Sioux Falls soon and was just wondering how long it takes to drive down to Omaha (to visit the zoo with my kids)? Google maps says 2 hr 41 min but was just wondering how long it would actually take in the "real world"?
Thanks

That sounds about right. It takes us close to 4 hours to get to Omaha and we're an hour west of Sioux Falls' first exit.
Have fun at the zoo. I'd love to go there some day cause I've heard only good things about it.

It's around 175 miles. To get to the Doorley Zoo from Sioux Falls I would guess about 2 hrs. and 41 minutes.

Ha!! Especially if you're driving this summer!!! There is way too much road construction along I-29 to make good time between Sioux Falls and Omaha. However, I do usually figure about 2 1/2 hours from Sioux Falls to Omaha typically.

Debey, was it you who had posted a site where you can see where all the current road construction is?

Thanks everyone.
Looking forward to moving to Sioux Falls and taking the little ones to Omaha Zoo. Heard that it is one of the top 10 zoos in the country.

Normally, it takes me about 2 and 1/2 hrs. to Omaha, but I live about ten miles south of Sioux Falls. Normally, it is a shade under 3 hrs. It may take a little longer this summer with areas of road construction in Iowa and the road construction between Beresford and Vermillion on I-29.
