Default Thanks for a (pretty much) wonderful trip!

I have just returned from ten days in Custer State park and I have to tell you guys ..... I am so very jealous of anyone who is lucky enough to live in the Black Hills full time. Simply gorgeous scenary, the weather could not have been better (even the big thunderstorm on Friday was pretty cool).
From the looks of things, the Black Hills is having a much better tourist season this year and judging from all the bikers and motor homes that were heading West on I-90 on Sunday you guys are going to have a record year for Sturgis.

Now as an fyi -- there is some kind of crappy (pun intended) intestinal bug going around. It only lasts 24 hours but it is a very loooong 24 hours. Several people at Stockade campground had it as did some guy at Lynns Dakota Mart (I overhead him telling the cashier about his son).
Wash your hands frequently if you are headed up there -- consider that a word from the wise.

That's awesome! Glad to hear you had a good time.

And that bug seems odd... but it happens I guess!

If my dh could find a job there we would move in a heartbeat! After all, I can be cold in Nebraska or cold in Custer SD -- hmmm, which is better?

Yea, and it wouldn't be a huge culture shock for you either. I know that Neb. has a very decent unemployment rate, but if you check out RC, there may be something there for employment. The most recent stats are out and I think RC is 5.4%. Mitchell is 5.5% and lucky Sx. Falls and Spearfish are 5%. BUT that's up a lot from what things used to be. Poor Yankton came in at the bottom again and they are over 7%.

I know unemployment is not bad at all in SD. Unfortunately there just are not that many openings in my dhs field in the Black Hills region. Ah, there is always retirement though, eh?

Nice try!
Dumb question... Is property tax a city or state or both?
