Default Thankin' Yankton...

I just returned from a week-long visit to the Yankton Area and I really had a nice time there. We stayed on Lewis and Clark Lake which was great for kayaking and swimming. Most of our time (volunteer worK) was spent in Bon Homme county but we did go to Yankton for shopping and dining on several occasion. Aside from the mosquitos, I found the whole area to be very pretty in it's own way, quite relaxing, and most of the 100's of people we met and spoke to were really very friendly.

Thanks Yankton and Bon Homme!

Glad you liked it and thank you for the trip review. It's always so nice to hear someone else's opinion of our state. It is a nice town and the fact that it's right on the River is very appealing. It's an older town, but it's still ok. Their problem right now is the struggle with their unemployment rate.

Anyway, it's just a nice compliment from someone who comes from a beautiful area like Colo.

Yankton is overall a descent community and is within a hour to hour and 15 minutes from either Sioux Falls or Sioux City for additional conveniences. Yankton has a small town feel but has a fair number of conveniences and services. Right now, the unemployment rate is a higher than most larger South Dakota cities but there many economically-depressed cities around the US who have it a lot worse than Yankton and Yankton is a clean community by and large.
