I"m not sure I understand your post. I grew up in Rapid City and thought that the schools were good. I didn't turn out too bad. Are you asking if the schools do a good job? They do. Just where are you going with this?

Well... I went to the Catholic schools, so you can guess what my personal response is going to be. Saint Elizabeth Seton and Saint Thomas More!

I'll let someone who has kids in public school take it from here...

Our sons were in High School when we moved here and I was very disappointed (to put it mildly) in both Central and Stevens. They went to Central the first year and then we were able to get them transferred to Stevens the next year. One son gave up on what was going on/not going on there and went to Job Corp (it was a great decision).

We lived many places before being here and quite frankly the public schools (from what I've seen) here are far below any of the other areas we've lived in. I have no actual experiences with Douglas school district (Ellsworth AFB/Box Elder, SD), they seem to be one of the better ones in the area though.

I had the pleasure of going to Rapid City High, Rapid City Central, and Stevens high. Out of curiosity, what did you encounter at Central and Stevens? Were you envolved with PTA and were they responsive?

The thing I have noticed about Nocatee, is nothing is ever good or right and would complain if hung with a new rope.

Stevens and Central are both good schools.
