No big plans here. A little bit of work, a little bit of homework, and some time to catch up on sleep!
Hope everyone has a great Labor Day!

First, I'm going to take a nap so I can rest up for sleep tonight.
Actually, 3 of my kids, their spouses and 6 of my grandkids are coming out to my cabin for a bar-b-q. Everybody is bringing something so should be a fun time by all. I'm 80 ft from the Tongue River so the grandkids are all bringing their fishing poles and Grandpa has been assigned too handle the fishing derby.

Elkhunter, that sounds wonderful! We headed down to Custer yesterday to drive the wildlife loop, went to play in Spearfish Creek today (we were going to the waterpark, but it was full!). Tomorrow will most likely be spent packing boxes for our move in two weeks!

My mom and a friend both flew up to Minneapolis to visit me and we've been having a great time. Went to the zoo, Mall of America, and some great restaurants. The State Fair is in Saint Paul too so we're going to that tomorrow! Have a safe weekend everybody!!!

We had a very nice weekend. We went to the State Fair both Sat. and Sun. Kory and the Fireflies are SO impressive! They are a South Dakota band that does a lot of openings for some big entertainers. Their songs are not classic, but we actually enjoyed their songs and their enthusiasm. Actually, some of their songs could've fit in back in our day.
Foreigner was pretty good. I was so glad they honored our troops and the troops actually got a standing ovation from the crowd. I just don't like it when bands want to sell their new music so they promote it rather then their older songs. But I'd give them a 5.
The Guess Who were pretty good. I'd also give them a 5.
BUT my favorite~the Grass Roots~they're definitely a 9. It was obvious from the crowd that they felt the same way. It's like they've improved or something. Their classics still sound the way they did 40 years ago AND they've become much better at relating to the crowd. They got standing ovations inbetween some songs and not just after their performance for an encore. They REALLY honored our troops.
We were surprised at how friendly the atmosphere was up there this year. Even the people at the gate had smiles on their faces and chatted.
The ONLY thing I found disappointing is that the State Fair doesn't provide a spot for the handicapped during concerts. The Sx. Empire Fair wheel them up in front of the stage or help them there. I saw one poor handicapped gal with a look of terror in her eyes while she was trying to climb the stairs so I went to help her. There was one poor, young worker with about 4 or 5 and she had her hands full just trying to help them up and get them seated. SO, I had the privilege of walking down the steps with the same handicapped gal when they left. She looked so scared and it appeared that she was going to fall.
BUT that is the only negative thing throughout the entire fair. They had a lot of rides and food stands and good entertainment.

Yup - we just got here! Moved into a house at the beginning of July, and by mid-August the landlord had sold the house! So we had to find another one! Now we are moving into another one the end of next week!
Lesson learned: never rent from a realtor!

Hi SD -- I am beyond excited this Labor Day. We are having a backyard picnic and true to form, I ran out of something and headed to the grocery. I did not notice this on the way out of the neighborhood, but somehow driving and hoping this would be the last Labor Day here in Tucson I noticed normalcy on the way back home. The house with the couch; couch is gone -- the house with the garage door half off; garage door replaced -- the house with the weeds and bedframe; weeds are pulled and bedframe is gone. I don't know why or when this happened (usually head out of the subdivision the other way), but I am so beyond grateful. We completed the attic over the garage this weekend and are closing in on actually putting this house up for sale. I know it is hard to understand when you don't live it, I do get that.......but, this is the first time in a year that I really do think we actually might sell and this move might come to pass - yes !!! So, for Labor Day this year we are having a backyard picnic with a lot of gratitude!!
