Default New to South Dakota

Hi my finace and I just moved up here in July. And we love it the only thing missing is friends. We live in Belle Fourche. I am currently looking for employment and my fiance works in Spearfish. I am not sure how to meet new people around here so I am trying this out.

Hey! We are in Belle, too! We just moved here the end of June! Where did you move from? What brought you here? Do you have any hobbies, interests?

We came up in June to visit because before then I have never been up here! I fell in love with it. We moved up from Colorado. I (Desiree) like to read, listen to music, hang out, have bbq's. I am also starting to get into 4 wheeling. My fiance (Rick) loves 4 wheeling and rock crawling. We are pretty laid back people and just enjoy to do just about anything. I love to dance but have not found a place up here to go yet. Rick does not like it so it makes it kinda hard to do.

I think friendships are most often started at work. Another good place to mingle and develop friendships is through community clubs, classes, etc. In Gillette the county rec dept. offers dance classes at least a couple times a year, or there are square dance (gag) clubs, ATV clubs, etc. If your fiance is into rock climbing, there's a good chance he'll meet some people through that. (My son was a rock climber but has "retired" from the sport.)

Has Rick climbed Devils Tower yet?

When's the wedding? (I'm a photographer... hint, hint.)

Yeah I have yet to find a job. He is thinking about joining a 4 wheel clumb up here. We went and met some of the members this last weekend. They are pretty cool. He is not into Rock climbing he is into rock crawling with 4 wheel drive rigs. No we have not been out to devils tower yet.

The wedding is in April and we are going back to Colorado for it due to my grandmother is not able to travel much.

Don't know what 4 wheeler clubs you've looked at but years ago when I lived in the Black Hills, there was the Black Hills 4 Wheelers. It was an outstanding club as they respected the land, the laws, and the wants of the Forestry Department.
