Default Lakes and Rivers

Hello,

I'm wondering if there are any swimmable lakes/rivers near Mitchell or Brookings or Huron.

Thanks.

There are lakes. However, it varies, from year to year, on the algae issues.

Debey's right. We do have Mitchell Lake, but this is one of the years you wouldn't want to swim in it. Actually, most years you wouldn't want to. I wish they'd do something to clean it up.

Ravine Lake is right in Huron, and Lake Byron is fifteen minutes away. Not sure on the algae situation, however. Lake Poinsett, near Arlington is pretty popular.

Lake Poinsett, Lake Vermillion, and Wall Lake are the ones I can think of. Wall Lake is closer to Sioux Falls though.
