Default What to do in Chamberlain/Oacoma?

My family and I will be visiting SD (more specifically Chamberlain/Oacoma) starting Nov. 14th through the 20th. I will be primarily be busy hunting but I am trying to find things for my wife and two young kids to do while they are not in the field with me. Any spas, parks, horseback riding in the area?

Thanks in advance,

Spud

There is the South Dakota Hall of Fame and that is about it. Its a 60 mile drive to Mitchell where there is slightly more shopping, and 135 miles to Sioux Falls there is stuff to do.

There is a resort on the Missouri River and I think a horse back riding place around there, I rode there one time when I was younger but maybe just driving around the river and you're bound to see different things every few miles, and check out Al's Oasis for a great buffalo steak

Cedar Shores Resort? They might have something for the pheasant widows.

During this time of year, pheasant widows are pretty much stuck hunting with the hubby. If it were closer to summer, obviously the thing to do is get out on the river either fishing or boating.

One can only eat so many buffalo burgers.

I live in Chamberlain, grew up here. This time of year there isnt much for kids to do. Like others said there is the museum at St. Joseph Indian School, Hall of Fame, movie theater, lots of crafts and antiques shops and of course McDonlds and other fast food places. Cedar Shore would be a nice place to stay , great view and a pool. Most of the hotels have pools. My kids are grown so Im not sure what there would be for kids. Ask around everyone here will gladly help you.
