Hey BrianGuy, Did you notice we both live in Bellevue, NE? I rarely view the Omaha forum and find myself drawn to the South Dakota one, mainly because the forum is filled with polite, supportive, and sincere posters. You can express your opinion about something without being criticized, ridiculed, or attacked. I love the environment here! Just wish I could actually LIVE in South Dakota -- I believe it would be a good fit for me. Maybe Debey needs a live-in housekeeper or nanny, LOL.
It is so funny that you and me both live in Bellevue and BOTH want to get the h e double hockey stick outta here!! LOL! Well, my wife and I will be breathing the wonderful SD air in 22 days! The count down is for a weekend in Rapid. We are going up on Sat night Aug 14th and coming back on Tuesday the 17th. While we are there we are going to visit old friends, drive through Custard, Sturgis, Lead, Deadwood, RC and on our way out stopping in WALL for some more "Where The Heck Is Wall Drug?!?!" bumper stickers to place all over Omaha. :-) We can't wait!!!
Miller is a nice town. About an hour and half east of Pierre on HWY 14. It's small, plenty of places to eat or grab a drink and the park and surrounding area is nice. I grew up around there but moved to the city. If you're looking for the true small town, everyone helps everyone, coffee and cards at the gas station, Miller is it. Miller also has one of the best high-school bands around, so there's always events to go see the jazz/marching bands.
LOL, we got a car full already! :-) I promise to take lots of photos and post them here so that anyone else that is in the same boat as us (wishing we were there and not anywhere else) can look at dream too!
