Caught this in the Aberdeen American News:
Quote:
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) A Sioux Falls man, Josh Hepp, set a state bowling record Friday when he rolled an 880 series at the Sport Bowl in Sioux Falls.

He recorded games of 300, 290 and 290, racking up 34 strikes out of a possible 36.

Hepp had shared the previous state record of 879 with Jeremy Sonnenfeld.

It was Hepp's 40th 300 game and his 26th 800 series.
That's pretty good.

I worked in the bowling alley in Robinsdale in Rapid City for a few years. I never saw anything that impressive although I did see a couple 300's. Never a series that high. That's something.

I'm unsure on how these records are kept. Jeremy Sonnerfield set a NATIONAL record when he bowled a 900 series when he was bowling for his collage team (which I believe was Nebraska). Yep, that's right, three perfect games. Apparently, that didn't count towards a SD state record.
