Cold enough for you now? Nothing like some -20 to -30 wind chills to welcome people to SD. Don't worry. It's cold to us homers too.

Ah, but pitty is, it usually gets colder before it gets warmer. Recall the December of 1983. Below zero for weeks and it wasn't even January yet. Ugh!

This is why we are a corn fed state. So we can build up that extra layer of fat to keep us warm, when old man weather decides that we have had too many nice winters.

Wow eiafjam - that is really great news. I remembered what you said in a past thread and that you worked so hard looking; so glad that this is going so well for you. Congrats on the "foot in the door" . Can't wait to read offer accepted and that you're moving. Gives hubby and I hope to see this is a real possibility.

Back in North Carolina. I got the offer and agreement for employment. The wording in the agreement was not to my liking, but he is working on that and I should have an answer in the morning. Quite nervous about picking up stakes, but the wife and I know that we must go. On Friday last week the plant I was employed at announced they were closing. I am posting a link here hope it works

So now Western N. Carolina is in worse shape.

Best of luck!!! I moved by myself from Boston to SE MN back in 1991 & even tho' it hasn't all been rosy - and I have been feeling a bit down lately due to the job, etc - it really was a great move. Now I am hoping to move to SD & for some reason it seems to be a bigger move than when I had moved here from Boston!!! Go figure!
Figures this would happen right at the beginning of a colder-than-normal sooner than normal winter!
Keep us posted and don't forget to tell your wife - CUDDLEDUDS!!! They are a godsend in this weather!
