Here are some shots from New Underwood. There wasn't a whole lot of snowfall, but what there was got thrown against any buildings unfortunate enough to be in the way of up to 70 mph winds. The area was without power for a couple of days but all is well now. You can see that there are areas which are either bare or nearly bare of snow... but check out the houses.
These round bales are each larger than a pickup truck and are stacked at least two high.
Walmat (Huron & Mitchell) yesterday afternoon......both stores......produce departments are wiped out. No potatoes, apples, banannas, lettuce...........maybe they will get trucks in, today!!
We got hit clear over here in Sheridan Wyoming. Weather Guessers didn't really expect it to reach here, but it did. Didn't get as much as you folks did but we got enough to stick me in town. I hate towns. But being Christmas, had to go in and enjoy some Grandpa time. 2 days later I was able to make it home. Good times though, no regrets.
Now I get to fire up the plow and clean this place up. Think I'll wait till it gets warmer. Right now it's 0 and setting on that plow can get mighty chilly.
Talk about chilly... Finished up the morning on a little backhoe and loader John Deere 110. Was able to get quite a bit of snow moved. The wind would catch just right and cut through the coveralls and coat.
It was a John Deere and a diesel, needless to say I had an excellent time. Grinning from ear to ear.
Oh gosh, about a day ago I posted that there were no fatalities in our state. There ended up being one. A 44 year old lady.
