I'd go there in a heartbeat just to escape the politics and racial/ethnic hatred that exists today in this world...

What if the aliens there see you as food when you land?

Since we aren't technically capable of getting there yet, I will cite your question as a need for scientists to also develop a hand held death ray for the journey. Lol

Whatever tech is first developed for interplanetary travel will most likely have a high mortality rate... Getting eaten by aliens might be better than some of the other possibilities (suffocation, starvation, extreme temperature exposure....)

I'll go if there is broadband.

First thing I will do when I get there is start opening McDonalds, convert any inhabitants to my religion, and build car dependent freeways.

I think their weight is linearly proportional to radius of the planet (mass is proportional to r cubed, force of gravity inversely proportional to r squared) so those kids would weigh more on that planet.

It could also be proportional to the volume of Big Macs and fries they consume.

Saw this on the news. Some claim there could be continents, islands, mountains and a good chance life may be living both on the land and in the Oceans.

This is why I hate hearing people talk about cutting budgets in the science programs. (Particularly NASA and any other space related programs.)
Sure we would not have gotten their with our current technology. I just wish we would invest MORE in the space programs.

Who knows how much we would have known about space, or the places we would have gone if we continued the Moon Program (Apollo) and if we built those moon bases that were being planned.
