I am 100% sure the U.S. landed humans on the moon. Not only once, but on 6 different missions. This has been proven to be true repeatedly. But a tiny percentage of naysayers will never be convinced. Even if Chinese or other moon missions ever verify the truth, naysayers will deny those missions as well, or say they planted the evidence, or say they couldn't possibly have landed at the same spot, and on and on. It's an endless conspiracy game.

Anyway, 24 men reached the moon's vicinity and 12 of them walked on the moon during the Apollo missions. Even Apollo 13 (a failed mission) swung by the moon. This is a fact. America has nothing to prove.

If Americans would stop electing anti-science evangelicals, perhaps we could have a properly funded national science program.

With age brings senility...

Why do the Chinese always have to do what someone else has already done?

I guess small people are just born with an inferiority complex...

Some sort of intelligent analysis showing funding levels, key votes, opponents to funding...anything.

As it stands it sounds like you are just whining and trying to throw the problem at the feet of a predetermined target to axe grind on.

I mean, replace "evangelicals" with "blacks" and you'd be sounding like the stormfronters that used to lurk around here.

So, show us how they hurt the space budget instead of what appears to be thinly veiled bigotry.

Oh please. Unless you've lived in a bubble for the past 25 years, then you cannot deny the ongoing fight (much of it on religious grounds) over national science policy and the budgets to fund it. And by the way, I said nothing about the space budget specifically, did I?

Science opposed by fundamentalist evangelicals and other religious folk:

Stem cell research;

Cosmology research;

Evolutionary biology;

Contraceptives and related research and clinical work;

Paleontology and related fields;

Physical and historical geology;

Psychology and neuroscience-related research;

Science education.

In effect, anything that contracts their own narrow scripture-based world view.

I'd give you a blow by blow of each of these, but I suspect you are at least as good at doing google searches as I am.
