Earth, first, but obviously at that point we'd need to consider life on both planets.

A Mars local is what I meant, since that is where Curiosity is.

While i doubt there are any locals there on Mars, It is an invasion of another world in a technical sense. Any planet could have been the subject-Mars was closer is all. I don't think they are going to find any evidence of life past or present and if they did they would not tell us. Which sucks given all the hype of "we are unlocking the secrets of the universe."

Sure would interesting if ET pulls up in an old rag-top and gets out with a bat and turns curiosity into scrap metal. Can you imagine the look on the face of the NASA techs?

No doubt they'd flee for their lives in terror at the sight of such a strange invading mechanical monster that can shoot out beams and vaporize solid rock.

President of the Martian Bacterium makes a public announcement addressing the Bacterian citizens of Coronation Rock and warning them of impending doom:
"Oh the horror! Gale Crater is no longer the home of peace and tranquility. We have been invaded! It's the end of the world as we know it! It's destroying our rock cities! Hundreds of thousands of our fellow bacterians have been slaughtered! Our defense weapons are completely useless against... IT! SQUIRM! SQUIRM FOR YOUR LIVES!"

Meanwhile, back on the rogue planet Earth, at JPL:
"It seems Curiosity has sniffed some sort of organic compounds coming from the target on Coronation Rock. We can't be sure what it means, but it's most likely just a geochemical process."
