'The largest yellow star ever discovered, 1300 times the diameter of our sun, has another star orbiting so closely they're actually touching.'

Huge Yellow Star Found With Another Star On Its Surface | Video | firstcoastnews.com

How long can this situation exist before the smaller star gets absorbed or destroyed by the larger star?

And was the reporter accurate in everything she said?

The larger component is currently departing the main sequence. Evolution notwithstanding , eventually the smaller component will fall into the former due to drag forces caused by direct contact with the photosphere of the former , as well as the ever expanding surface of its primary. My guess would be anywhere from 10,000 to 1Myr. I didn't watch the video , as my time is limited.
