No, but I wasn't watching all the time. But I did see a golden glow around the rim of the moon. I was wondering what the explanation was as the earth (as seen from the moon) is far larger than the sun, so logically, it should have blotted out the entire moon.
But, evidently, there is some effect of the sun's light extending beyond the disc of the earth as seen from the moon. The corona seems the obvious explanation, but that doesn't quite seem to fit the golden glow.
Could it be something to do with refraction by the earth's atmosphere? I noted that refraction of the sunlight causes as blue band in the rest of the red light.
I had a Netsearch but nobody seems to mention the point. Does anyone have an explanation? Send answers on a postcard to "Arq, care of Goddless bastards forum, A/A, CityData religion." First correct answer out of the bag gets a rep.
