Well....it's what is known as a "conspiracy".

You know how no-one believes anything the government says these days? That means they tell us all kinds of lies depending on what they want us to believe at the time - this is just another of those lies they have been feeding us for decades and centuries. In fact, its rather like the Tooth Fairy and Father Christmas and 9/11.

Personally, I dont care how far away the sun is. I am just grateful its still there.

Are you saying that you actually believe there is a conspiracy to make us think the sun is 93 million miles away (average distance)? If you do, why? For what purpose?

The sun is hot enough to fuse helium and hydrogen atoms together so I don't think getting it up to 65 degrees F in Beantown is that tall of an order.

And that's one of the major problems with people who peddle conspiracies - they don't bother to actually demonstrate a reason for the conspiracy. People do things through motivation. They do complicated, potentially-risky things for significant motivation.

Where's the motivation to claim that the Sun is 93 million miles away if it is not? There isn't one. Reason #357 that this is a mind-numbingly laughable assertion.

No, I do not. I am sure some profoundly ridiculous people reject everything the government says (even those obviously verifiable things, because some people are so dense that they'll disbelieve what they independently know to be true just out of pique at the entity pointing out said truth). But 'no one'? And not 'anything'? Now you're just serving up nonsense. But then, nonsense iss one of the conspiracists prime rhetortical tools.

1) You don't comprehend the concept of motivation, or you're just another conspiracist who dishonestly evades the questions that you know gut your silly conspiracy to pieces.

2) The government has no monopoly in the rather simply evidence used to calculate AU (I'll let you look that up - I doubt it's in the Alex Jones website glossary, so I figure you have no idea what it is).

3) In your world, the government claims that the Tooth Fairy exists?
