You can all dream of colonizing Mars but it will never happen. It is all just pie-in-the-sky, a fantasy and a sink-hole for black budget funds.

I never said antimatter was theoretical. But its usage in space propulsion definitely still is.

What about mining asteroids for their energy rich minerals?

I think we will probably find there are others who have got there first.

If you had set up mining facilities on an asteroid, and staked a claim to it, you would not want others from Earth coming along to 'share' your asteroid and take the minerals for themselves.

Plus, any company from earth which landed on the asteroid and set up the mining operation, would have to wait quite a while for the asteroid to go out into deep space and come back to our Solar System in order to deliver your minerals.

Keep in mind, there is PLENTY the public is not aware of, when it comes to technology and energy. The only type the public is permitted to know about are the ones that can be run thru a meter.

Anti-gravity is a great example.
