I think that the wonders of space prove the existence of God. As Carl Sagan put it, "We are a way for the cosmos to know itself." When I ponder that simple compounds made in and changed by stars became a way for the cosmos to reach consciousness, I see the Hand of God. I find it interesting that Carl Sagan was atheist and that an atheist pointed out God's handiwork to me and made that work real for me. Wonders never cease.

Whether you perceive the Hand of God or not, the properties of the Universe are entirely explained by the laws of physics. There is no evidence of custom tinkering.

I know we don't want to turn this into a science/religion debate. And I have already stated that I am not a religious person. The laws of physics are created by us puny little humans on this puny little planet to understand the universe. By the way, we are still a long way in understanding black holes, antimatter, dark matter, dark energy, etc.

To borrow one of Sean Carroll's explanations: The universe is an egg. There is a chicken from which the egg comes. And this is where our understandings end.

Diesel23,

My response is not in support of a creator. Maybe there is one. Maybe there isn't one. I don't know.
