Default Let's discuss old hand made telescopes

Back in the 1950's, my uncle made a reflector telescope. It had a six inch mirror that he spent over a year grinding in his garage. I remember the star parties in his yard. This was in the old days before people went out and bought telescopes. It got me interested in science.
