question about behavior 9 yr old ADHD PDDNOS etc
hi,
this is not about relocation or where best services are, however this is a pretty well attended a forum and i thought it wouldnt hurt to post my question here. I have a 9 yr old son with PDD NOS, ADHD, OCD, and we have one "behavioral" problem that just no one can seem to crack! any time he meets a peer who is a girl, especially in his class at school, he attaches to her in the same obssessve way he may other things, except she is a person! he glues himself to her, wont give her any space, touches too much and just becomes generally so obssessive with her that he has to be physically separated from her because he will drive her crazy! now this is a high functioning, VERY mild PDD NOS, normal IQ child who has social difficulties, anger issues and some behavioral issues. he has never had good luck with peers because the school system can never deliver the right kind of set up for him so he is always with peers who are too advanced or peers who are socially not as friendly as he, etc. Howver, this will happen with any girl just about anywhere - park, a party, school etc.
I am scrambling for WHAT to do, we do not have any kind of psychologist or behaviorist to consult except for the one at school - there must be some excellent professionals out there who would have SOME ideas how to handle this. I guess im just wondering, please, what would you do?? any ideas? thank you for reading!
also, i forgot, if any parents know of any other internet forums on special needs kids or groups to which i could also address this question i would really appreciate it!

You may want tot try Delphi for forums one group in particular: The Oasis
Here is their web site:
Asperger Syndrome OASIS
you have to join and ask for entrance, but it is well worth it. there are many parents with many kids there who have a lot of experience to share..
Good luck!
