Personally I liked the open woods of the west plains...and lots of lakes out there!

Rgb123, if you're working at Fairchild, you may have access to the AF facility at Clear Lake. Used to be nice, anyway...nice beach, cheap cheap boat and ski rentals.

That's right, but even as far west as Wilbur you can see these weird oases of pines in the middle of the barren plains.

And I always thought the Deep Creek area was nice.

Rgb123, one other thing I forgot to mention about looking for places in Medical Lake/Cheney/Four Lakes area is also that your commute time will be much less than the valley and much easier traffic-wise.

Good luck in your search!

really? I don't know why but Medical Lake doesn't appeal to me from what I saw (online) however Cheney might.

I've decided I'm going to try, waiting for approval....to just stay in extended housing for a week or two and then fly back for my things. I've been trying to find a place and I just can't do it from here!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm so looking forward to my drive up there next week!

I live in south Spokane Valley & work over by the airport, it's a fourteen mile drive & it takes me twenty minutes to get there. I really like living here & the traffic always seems light. The only place in Spokane I've ever hit really bad traffic is on Division heading north.

Very good idea and probably the best thing you can do. I think you're always better off doing something like this when in a new town where you can see it for yourself.
Everyone has different tastes about what they like and what they look for in a place and each one of us could be steering you to an area in which you'd be miserable.

Good luck to you and I'm envious of your move.

Canyon Bluffs Apartment Homes - Spokane, Washington 509-455-4454

Easy access to the highway. Close to downtown Spokane (5 min) and airport (14 min), as well as Fairchild AFB (23 min) - closer than Cheney to AFB (29 min).

We know people staying at the apartments, and they enjoy living there.
