Default Moving to Spokane....what's Medical Lake like????

A job transfer is bringing my family (myself, husband and 2 small boys) to Spokane. We were wanting acreage and noticed Medical Lake in our search. There must be a catch to a 15 acre new home for only $315. Is it a nice area? We would appreciate any info you can give. We are coming from Olympia, WA.

Thank you!
April from Olympia

Pretty quiet. I would choose Med Lk over Spokane. There are several lakes in the area that provide good fishing early. The climate is drier than over here (I'm in Roy, lived in Spokane 9 years). Bring a snow shovel.

Default moving to Spokane

Hi - from Olympia
Spokane is much dryer then Olympia .. but we do have snow in this area.
Medical Lake is between Fairchild Air Force Bass (and the big jets) and Cheney - home of EWU - it is the home for the a medical hospital - people with mental challenges. There is a good size Russian community there also.

it is beautiful - grass lands, small lakes and some clustrers of trees.
It does get a lot of snow in the winter - and wind - and the highway can be really bad to drive to/ from the city. It depends on where you will be working - if you are in the valley area - it would be a long drive but not as bad as Seattle to Olympia on a Friday night at 5pm!

I would look at school districts - if you are sending the boys to public school
Mead, Spokane, East Valley, Central Valley and West Valley - plus Reardan, Liberty Lake, Medical Lake, Cheney, Valleyford - all are area in and around Spokane. Best to come over and look around ...

Donna

Default medical lake

Hi, have lived in the Medical Lake area for 5 plus years now. The area is very beautiful. The Medical Lake school district is great. Plenty of things to do in and around the area. The price of property is reasonable. We got our property 6 years ago, 20 acres for under 200 that is with house and sheds. Come over and see for yourself the beauty and look at all the potential in housing.
