I will be moving to Spokane and working in the Valley at the end of the month and was wondering if anyone had any input on a nice apartment for a 25yr old single professional male. I am only looking for something for like 6 months, because I wanna buy a home. I don't really want to spend over 500/month. BTW how are the utility prices out there? I would really like a neighborhood that is fun and safe (mainly worried about my car). Hope to get lots of feedback, Thanks in advance.

If you don't mind a 20 minute commute, there can be some great apartments found in and around downtown Spokane. It offers easier access to some of the happenings downtown than one of the huge complexes on the fringe.

Some good info on apartment locations from current residents here.

Thanks Metro. Are there any areas I should avoid completely? Like I mentioned before my car is a large concern, from what the news says its like "gone in 60 seconds" in Spokane. The South Hill is where I have been looking, but its hard being in Ohio still, I want to see it in person first and these apartments go really fast from what i've heard.

If you're really worried about your car, several of the apartment complexs on the upper south hill (along Regal between 37th and 57th) have garages (not just covered parking) for your car. I'm sure other apartments around town do as well but I know for sure several complexes there have them. Good luck.
