What area should I keep away from? I can spend about $1200 a month but only want a 6 month least. For that kind of money to rent a house what would be my best bet to stay out of the bad neighborhoods?

Default I want to rent a house in Spokane

When I first came to Spokane I rented a three bedroom 2 car garage house up on Five Mile Prairie for $900 a month. The Realty Co (Call Realty)wanted me to sign a 1 year lease, but I requested and received a 6 month lease. I bought my current house after five months of living in the rental and was refunded the last month of rent when the realty company was able to rent out the house during the sixth month of my lease. Five Mile Prairie is a very suburban residential part of Spokane. Cookie cutter houses, but very quiet and seemed safe.

agree with otgso; better area, wandermere is good any where north of spokane! but as i posted before; spokane does have a crime wave going on and a very bad police department. so try to stay out of the city; nine mile falls, deer park, are close enough for services but less crime. five mile is ok but you are still "in" the city.

don't think the valley get you away from the bad police and druggies going wild....too much crime... not as bad as LA but way more then what's ok by me.....so i'd just stay out of the city; like i said north of town is better. just have to drive into city when for stuff but i think less likely to worry about break ins and car vandalism and theft....
