Looking for info on living in Cheney... is housing more affordable than living in Spokane? How's the commute to Spokane? How are the schools? Thanks for your input

Cheney is about 10 min drive down I-90 to downtown spokane. Being so close to spokane, the house values are pretty much the same. Wife and I have been looking at some houses in a new development on the other side of I-90. Most starting in the 200's, but with the market as it is, I'm sure that there are some bargains to be found. Schools are top notch in cheney. Havent found any people that I know with bad things to say about cheney schools... Hope this helps

The Cheney school district covers a wide area of territory. There is the actual city of Cheney, which has more services, shopping, EWU, etc. But there's probably a 10-15 mile radius outside the city that is still within the Cheney zip code with more rural type properties on acreage. Quite a variety of terrain, too, from open farmland type property, to more treed & hilly areas. There are several lakes in the Medical Lake & Cheney areas that are very popular for boating & fishing.

Scott, I have also heard very good things about the Cheney school district, especially in more recent years.
