The comments above describing thie similarity of suburban sprawl are spot on. Spokane Valley is no exception. The great aesthetic plague of our country is the soulless sameness of so many of the places we live and work. About the only redeeming characteristic of Spokane Valley is the relative accessibility of the rural and agricultural areas that surround Spokane and poke through the strip malls and drab rows of franchise restaurants here and there. If you can survive for the weekends and escape to the lakes, mountains, and wilderness within an hour or so of driving, you can survive life in the Spokane Valley; if you find the suburban sprawl too depressing, you can move to the South Hill and escape the worst of the visual crapola lining Sprague/Appleway, Trent, and the freeway.
