Jason,

What kind of work are you looking for? In general, jobs are still being added at a decent rate in Spokane so in general you should be okay. The people are generally friendly though compared to some parts of the country it can take a little while longer to really get to know people. I'm not sure what type of school you're looking for but (assuming it is college level) there are several to choose from in Spokane. Things are less diverse than in southern California but you'll likely laugh about the 'traffic' in Spokane.

Question Utilities in Spokane? Plus a few more :)

Hello, I'm moving to Spokane in a few months, and I am just trying to figure out my budget. In an apartment, 1 or 2 bedroom, about how much are the utilities (gas/water/electric/etc...)? Also, I've been seeing quite a few apartments or condos on Craigslist for around $475-$550. How is that compared to the real rental rates going on there? Excessivly low? About right? I'm moving from Las Vegas, where it's about $800 for a studio right now in a decent area, so I'm sort of leary about the prices. Any suggestions on a good neighborhood for a single 27 year old female and a cat? My job is going to be in Spokane Valley.
Thanks!
