Good morning. Searched the forums and found a bit of info on the Newport area. I was looking at property and it seems there is quite a bit for sale around Newport. I wanted to ask if there were any known issues around that area? Wells not working out, soil unable to perk, flood areas, etc.? Just starting the information gathering phase of looking and would appreciate any input. Thank you
Jules

i used to live nearby and shopped, used the gym in Newport. I know there is a new silicon smelter starting up in Newport and that is a matter of controversy. As far as the rest...no Other than that, just the usual problems with lack of employment. . It's a nice little town but the smelter has people in an uproar.

This is very helpful Mistyriver. I appreciate your response. We are just beginning to research the areas around Spokane and it seemed there was a lot of properties for sale in this area. We are also looking near the Cheney are so may look closer there.
Appreciate your insights!
Jules
