Summer Great Idea in Spokane:

Park clusters of lime scooters in front of each of the hundreds of booze-dispensing outlets that dot the city.

Observe lightbulbs illuminating in the brains of twenty-somethings. At last, originality!

Eschew helmet, IQ, and sanity requirements.

Wait for night to fall.

Listen for the plaintive wail of sirens.

Keep it up long enough and all of Stuckart and Beggs’ voters will be incapacitated.

Portland police just found 50 of those moronic things at the bottom of the Willamette River.

I wouldn’t mind if their use was restricted to helmeted, retired teetotalers. But filling our streets with drunken post-teens (and teens) on electric scooters strikes me as the most irresponsible thing since they released Kate Burke from protective custody and put her on the city council. With her own microphone and notepad.

Good news for maxillofacial surgeons, though.

Maybe the surgeons are secretly funding them, Spokane ScooterGate.

I can’t figure out how they hope to enforce kids wearing helmets when they’ve exempted them from wearing them on Lime scooters.
Could they be any more clear that safety is great but exempt when the city can make a profit off of unsafe things.
I’m very happy to not be there during Hoopfest.

Just so you’re here for Pig Out in the Park.

And the cardiologists, I’m sure.

I haven’t been to that either or Bloomsday. I guess I’m not a very good Spokanite.
Not very fond of crowds.

Good place for solitude.
I wonder if that will change when the Blue Zoo opens in August.
